NEWPORT BEACH, Ca. – For the second consecutive week, Notre Dame Linebacker Manti Te’o has been named the Lott IMPACT Player of the Week.

Te’o had two second-quarter interceptions, forced a third later in the game and finished with eight total tackles to help the Irish defeat Michigan, 13-6, to improve to 4-0.  It marked the second time in two weeks that Notre Dame held a ranked opponent to six or fewer points since 1943.

Te’o, a Lott IMPACT Trophy finalist a year ago, was also the Player of the Week for his performance against Michigan State Sept. 15.

Te’o led an inspired Irish defense with a dozen tackles, including one for a loss, a fumble recovery and two passes defended in a stirring victory over Michigan State, 20-3, to push Notre Dame to 3-0 for the first time in 10 years. 

NEWPORT BEACH, Ca. – Georgia Linebacker Jarvis Jones has been named the Lott IMPACT Player of the Week.

The 2011 All-American had two sacks, an interception and nine total tackles as the Bulldogs defeated Missouri, 41-20.

The Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation will donate $1,000 to the general scholarship fund at Georgia to honor Jones’ performance.

NEWPORT BEACH, Ca. – Florida State Defensive End Bjoern Werner has been named the Lott IMPACT Player of the Week.

Werner recorded four sacks, had another tackle for loss, forced a fumble and broke up one pass in the Seminoles’ 69-3 opening weekend rout of Murray State, 69-3.  Florida State held Murray to 39 rushing yards.
